STEPtember 2024

I'm raising funds to move CP research and disability innovation forward.

I'm participating in the STEPtember challenge to raise funds for cerebral palsy research and advancements in technology to benefit disabled people. I'm taking my fitness into our own hands and setting daily activity goals for the month of September. All month long, I'll be raising funds to support Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation (CPARF).

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common lifelong physical disability in the world, affecting 18 million people of all ages, with 1 in 323 children diagnosed with CP every year. Even though it’s so common, CP doesn’t get the attention or funding it deserves. Your generosity will change that.

Any contribution you make will make a difference. Your gift can support:

  • Research into cutting-edge physical therapy to see what works best for certain children.
  • Painless technology that makes it possible for people with CP to move in ways — and accomplish things — that they never have before.
  • Research into new chronic pain treatments and solutions for people with CP.
  • Technology that makes it easier for people with CP to live their everyday lives right now.

Please help support this great cause by making a donation. It would mean so much to me — and to everyone with CP.

Thanks!

My Updates

Thursday 5th Sep
I don't usually do online fundraisers, but this one hits home.
Our youngest son, who will be 8 in December, was born 10 weeks early and was diagnosed with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy when he was 2 1/2. He had surgery this past April to derotate his hips and lots of soft tissue/tendon work. He has been such a trooper through the surgery and all the PT. This kid has had physical therapy at a minimum of 1-2x per week since he was 6 months old, it's been 5 days a week since having his surgery. I thought this was the least I could do. He is such a strong little guy, I wish things could be easier for him 💕 He has his tempered moments, but most of the time this kid has a big smile on his face & I'm so proud of the hard work he continues to put in.
It is amazing to see the things they are able to do, yet there are still so many unknowns in the world of CP. If you feel compelled to donate I would appreciate it. This will not directly go towards Dylan, it will help with further research into more ways to treat and help people with CP.
I'll be getting in at least 10,000 steps a day throughout the month of Sept to support CP research

WHY STEPTEMBER IS IMPORTANT TO ME

IN THE US, A CHILD IS DIAGNOSED WITH CEREBRAL PALSY EVERY 45 MINUTES.

I'm participating this September to fundraise to support Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation in their mission to change what's possible for people with cerebral palsy.

This STEPtember, you're making a life-changing impact for people with CP.

Will you STEP up with me for cerebral palsy?
