STEPtember 2024

I'm raising funds to move CP research and disability innovation forward.

I'm participating in the STEPtember challenge to raise funds for cerebral palsy research and advancements in technology to benefit disabled people. I'm taking my fitness into my own hands and setting daily activity goals for the month of September. All month long, I'll be raising funds to support Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation (CPARF).

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common lifelong physical disability in the world, affecting 18 million people of all ages, with 1 in 323 children diagnosed with CP every year. Even though it’s so common, CP doesn’t get the attention or funding it deserves. Your generosity will change that.

Any contribution you make will make a difference. Your gift can support:

  • Research into cutting-edge physical therapy to see what works best for certain children.
  • Painless technology that makes it possible for people with CP to move in ways — and accomplish things — that they never have before.
  • Research into new chronic pain treatments and solutions for people with CP.
  • Technology that makes it easier for people with CP to live their everyday lives right now.

Please help support this great cause by making a donation. It would mean so much to me — and to everyone with CP.

Thanks!

Saturday 24th Aug
Hello friends and family,

For those of you that don’t know, my son Xavier Elijah Rodriguez had Cerebral Palsy do to a medical malpractice. God lend me him for 3 1/2 years and during that time I was 21 years old. I became a first time mom and I had to learn very quickly and did some courses to become Β his advocate and nurse mom as they callled me. When he was born Β they told me he wasn’t going to survive, but they are not God and he proved them wrong. After that they tried everything in there power to convince me he would be to hard to handle and they wanted me to put him in a home!!! Shame shame on them I said he is my son and when he’s ready to come home I am open arms. It was not easy but I did everything I could to make him comfortable and just love on him. I was literally 95 Ibs when he was alive. But we as mothers do what we have to do!!!

So I decided to do a fundraiser in memory of him! I want to give back to CP to help other children and adults with this cause!!! Starting September 1st there is a challenge I joined to do 10,000 steps a day for the whole month to support this amazing CP organization. I would be honored if anyone would love to join this challenge with me or even donate to this amazing cause!!!! My team will be called My heroe Xavier Elijah Rodriguez!!!!

WHY STEPTEMBER IS IMPORTANT TO ME

IN THE US, A CHILD IS DIAGNOSED WITH CEREBRAL PALSY EVERY 45 MINUTES.

I'm participating this September to fundraise to support Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation in their mission to change what's possible for people with cerebral palsy.

This STEPtember, you're making a life-changing impact for people with CP.

Will you STEP up with me for cerebral palsy?
